As you are all aware, we took the decision to donate our takings from Thursday 8th March, being International Women’s Day, to help pay towards psychological support for Mistreated women in our area.
We are delighted to tell you that with your support, we have been able to donate 650 euro. This was reached through a staggering 91 euro from the collection tin on our cash desk, 50 euro kindly donated by The Javea Green Bowls Club and Thursdays takings from the Charity Shop and Library.
Huge thanks to everyone involved, we certainly make a difference!
The Original Charity Shop made a donation of 650 euros to the municipal Department of Equality which will go towards the programme of psychological support for abused women. The Councillor Montse Villaverde thanked the residents for this important help, which comes from the sales made in the store during the day of March 8th, International Women's Day.

In the near
future it will be mandatory to charge for supplying a plastic carrier bag. We have decided to be proactive and as from
Monday 16th April we will be charging 5 cents for our plastic carrier bags if a
donated paper bag is not available.
Therefore, if you
wish to avoid this charge, please bring your own shopping bag with you and help
us protect the environment.

Santa and his helper visited Raquel Paya Special School in Denia yesterday with helpers from The Original Charity Shop and Library in Javea. We were once again able to give each child a much wanted gift and also 1000 euros for their next school trip. This is because of the generosity of all those lovely people who purchase raffle tickets and the businesses and individuals in our local community who donate prizes and money.
Thank you all and may Peace and Happiness be with you this Christmas.
RAFFLE TICKETS ARE STILL ON SALE - THE DRAW TAKES PLACE THIS FRIDAY

RED CROSS REFUGEE APPEAL
A very big thank you for your very prompt action and donation of 1000€ on behalf of The Red Cross refugee Appeal.
It must be truly shocking to find yourself in this situation and your empathy for their plight is heart warming and much appreciated by Red Cross. They can do a lot with this money. I have just heard the horrendous statistic that 33,000 refugees have drowned so far this year. It's so sad.
