TRANSFORMER APPEAL FUNDRAISER
Fund Raiser on behalf of the Franciscan Refuge TRANSFORMER APPEAL A fun evening was had by all at the La Drova home of John and Chrissy Wilson to celebrate St. Andrews Night. All guests were asked to wear blue and white. Our hosts prepared a traditional Scottish meal of soup, haggis, neeps and tatties followed by a delicious raspberry and cream dessert. Prior to the meal there was a quick quiz to discover who knew what about ‘All things Scottish’. Once the meal was over there was Scottish country dancing, a sing song and then an auction. BRITISH LEGION
For the last three years the Original Charity Shop and Library has donated 500 euros for Margo Gunn to take part in the British Legion sponsored walk. Here is a photo of Margo and staff of the shop with a cup she has received for collecting the highest amount of donations.

RACE FOR LIFE
Sponsored by the Original Charity Shop and Library our volunteer Melanie Thompson once again completed the Javea “Race for Life” event. This year proceeds are in aid of AECC, MABS and ESPANION (Children’s Cancer Charity. Congratulations to Mel who crossed the finishing line in 55 minutes and whose effort to raise money to help cancer patients and their families are much appreciated” We donated 500 euros to this worthy cause.

DIGITAL OPEN AIR CONCERT NIGHT
The Digital Open Air Concert was held at the home of Alan and Pauline Higgins in La Drova, Barx. Twenty guests were invited to enjoy a variety of music and artists on the big screen. A fish and chip supper with assorted drinks was provided along with a special treat of ices given out by the usherette, aka Trevor Nash, during the intermission. Donations were made by the guests for the Franciscan Transformer Appeal – a total of 120 euros was taken Our thanks go to Alan and Pauline on behalf of the Franciscan Brothers and Residents.

EASTER RAFFLE 2011
The draw took place Easter Saturday and the happy winners of the 1st prize of a flat screen TV were Holger and Karin Wehrend.
