THOMAS BARNES

On behalf of all the Barnes family, I'd like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the amazing support you've given Thomas during the past couple of years. With over eighty visits to hospitals in Valencia, Alzira and Denia, and to the GAES children's Hearing Clinic in Alicante already, Thomas has made fantastic progress and he's now going to school like a regular three year old. This was our dream for him after he was damaged by Sepsis at nine weeks as the expectation was for him not to see, to not hear, not to walk or talk ... and to have to be educated in a Special Needs School. Well, thanks to good people like yourselves, Thomas's future is much brighter! (Without you covering the transport costs, Thomas would have missed most of his appointments... so thank you so much!) He's still got lots of problems to overcome, years of ongoing therapies and possibly further surgeries, but he's got his sight back (a miracle in itself), he can walk and run about, even ride a scooter, he can hear with hearing aids, his intelligence is not affected and he's speaking. (Thomas is still registered disabled and is about a year delayed in general development. We're still working on balance, ongoing speech and language therapy, an auditory processing disorder and a range of "challenging behaviours" but the hospital appointments have dropped right off now since Christmas, now that Thomas is three.) It's been such a difficult and stressful time for Thomas's mummy because through all this time she lost her job, become a single parent and has been diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis, plus she has two other children with serious health conditions - one has Aspergers and another was born with a chronic heart condition. Things are on the upturn though and Sarah has started back to work full-time.

Over Christmas we'd planned on bringing Thomas to see you, to thank you in person and show you how well he is now, but with all the coughs and colds, we just didn't manage it - but we will!

So thank you again for the massive part you've played in Thomas's recovery programme ... we will be forever grateful to you all. (When he's older and able to understand, we will tell him about your love for him.)

Thank you so much,

Veronica Barnes (Tommy's Grandma)

2013 - A BUMPER YEAR

It is your support that makes this happen!

Dear friends from The Original Charity Shop and Library
I got a big surprise from you all, and I thank you very much.
A few days ago unfortunately, I had my new bike stolen. I made this public through social networks because it happened in the local parish, and perhaps where some had come to know somethingIt has not been found to this day Thursday 14th, I then received the good news of your generous gesture, buying me a new bikeIn truth, I did not expect  this to happen to me. I thank you from my heart.

In the first week of July this year I leave Javeabound for Peru, where he will work in various trades. The bike I will take with me - as I had planned to do with the above - and I assure you that it will remind me pleasantly and daily of you from far away, especially in prayer.
Thank you very much to all of you,  God bless you.

Frank Suarez, Priest.
